Rob Sprowson of Elesar started with a case study that he called ‘NICanatomy’. This followed the whole process of designing, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, documenting and packaging of a new product, using the Econet NIC (Network Interface Card) for the RiscPC / A7000 / A7000+ machines as an example. He went on to describe the benefits of cloud storage and the many providers offering it. He then focused in on the Switzerland-based pCloud and its particular suitability for accessing from RISC OS using CloudFS. This was followed by a very interesting demonstration, whereby Rob took a photo on his Android tablet, sent it to pCloud, viewed it using CloudFS on a RiscPC, and then finally did a live share via Econet to a BBC B. Of course the Beeb could not display the image, but it could be seen as a hex dump.
