The Wakefield Acorn & RISC OS Computer Show
In May 1996, Wakefield RISC OS Computer Club organised the first Wakefield Acorn Computer Show. The event was quickly arranged at short notice, following the cancellation of the Acorn User Spring Show in Harrogate, and was held in the Cedar Court Hotel at Calder Grove near Wakefield. In 2000 the show became known simply as “Wakefield 2000” – and the naming convention continued until 2024.
Unfortunately rising costs and falling visitor numbers resulted in WROCC calling it a day after the 2024 event. In 2025 we are instead encouraging all of our past visitors to support RISC OS North on Saturday 29th March in Warrington.
